If you've been thinking about getting back in shape and considering the possibility of participating in a run shortly, you've probably wondered how long it takes to run 5k.

In general, what worries most beginner runners is not being able to run a full distance, and not necessarily finishing within a certain time. Now if you are an experienced runner this might not be something to think about as you will no doubt already have time to watch hitting but for starters, it is often a real concern.

But there is no need for that. Just go out and do your best without having any preconceptions about when you should or shouldn't be able to do it.

Another fear is that you will be the last person to finish after everyone else. But there is nothing you can do about it, unfortunately.

If this is your first 5k, just do it in stages partly on foot, or partly jogging, but just walk away so you know what to expect next time.

Getting good 5k race times shouldn't be the main concern of most beginners.

After having successfully completed 5 km, the most enthusiastic runners will aim to beat their previous best time. However, keep in mind that different race modes and conditions will result in very different times, so you should generally only compete in the same race and under similar conditions.

Of course, what a lot of runners do is keep testing themselves at 10k, but that's a whole other challenge.

Well, experienced runners with a good level usually hope to finish the race in around 25 minutes while fast runners or competitive runners should expect finish times around 15-20 minutes.

Keep in mind that most beginners don't do this to reach a certain time, but they have other motivators that push them forward, such as losing weight, running with friends, or running for a ride. charitable cause to name a few.

While some beginners may have an end time in mind, most have other goals such as running the entire course without rest or not being the last to finish.

Whatever your motivations, don't take it too seriously and enjoy it as much as possible.
